International Environmental Policy
The United Kingdom and Colombia have been allies in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss for many years. They continuously join forces in international spaces such as the United Nations Climate Change Conferences (UNFCCC or COPs) and the United Nations Conference on Biological Diversity (CBD-COP) to promote ambitious commitments at the global level.
At COP 27 (2022-Sharm El Sheikh) they renewed their UK COL Partnership for Sustainable Growth through which they support their climate and nature action, taking into account that both countries have one of the most ambitious greenhouse gas reduction targets by 2030 and played a key role in achieving the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
